Nurture Your Worth
How Practicing Self-Love Helped me to Cultivate Better Habits and Make Real Changes in my Life
Before I started to make self-love practices a priority in my life, I struggled to meet my goals and feel good about how I was showing up for myself and others. I was a shell of my true self.
I was sick and tired of always feeling like I wasn’t doing enough, trying enough or being enough and my mind would loop on self-limiting beliefs.
I was teaching others how to love themselves, but was I practicing what I preached??
How could I show up for my students, clients, friends and family if I wasn’t taking care of my own emotional and spiritual health?
I desperately needed some new tools to practice in my daily life in order to feel like my most radiant self more often.
This is when the SELF course was born.
When I actually committed to doing the work, here’s what happened:
Then: Forcing myself to plug along and work when I was tired.
Now: Honoring my body and resting when I need it.
Then: Filling my calendar so I didn’t have to sit with myself or my “stuff”.
Now: Sitting with the discomfort and feeling all my feelings by meditating, journaling, moving my body and crying it out.
Then: Negative self talk when something doesn’t work out.
Now: Reflecting and showing myself compassion when things don’t go according to plan.
Then: Seeing all things in black and white.
Now: Appreciating all the gray and color in between.
Then: Sitting in one place to lock in and get work done
Now: Switching up my environment to suit my mood and energy for that time.
Then: Saying ‘yes’ just because I didn’t want to disappoint others.
Now: Saying ‘no’ when it isn’t a full body ‘yes’.
Does any of this sound familiar or is it just me???
